Julia Ratkay, DDS

I was born in Budapest, Hungary, into a family that had a number of physicians and other health care professionals. I chose dentistry because I always enjoyed working with my hands. I did my original training in Hungary, but returned to the University of British Columbia’s dental program to aquire my Canadian Dental Degree, which I received in 2001.

I enjoy practicing all aspects of general dentistry, and I am comfortable working with all age groups from toddlers to seniors. My goal is to provide well balanced, patient centered care and minimalize dental anxiety in patients through a relationship based on trust and communication. I would like my patients to think of me as a safe, gentle dentist with a keen eye and thorough attention to detail. I believe in life-long learning and has been upgrading my training over the years in specific fields, like orthodontics and endodontics.

Before joining Garden Dental Clinic, Dr. Katie and I had a long conversation about our professional phylosophy and patient care practices. We found that our views aligned well and I was very excited to join this well rounded and well established practice. I am looking forward to get to know all of the patients and be able to be part of their care for many years to come.
