Dr. Julia Ratkay
Dentist in Abbotsford
I was born in Budapest, Hungary, into a family that had a number of physicians and other health care professionals. I chose dentistry because I always enjoyed working with my hands. I did my original training in Hungary, but returned to the University of British Columbia’s dental program to acquire my Canadian Dental Degree, which I received in 2001.
I enjoy practicing all aspects of general dentistry, and I am comfortable working with all age groups from toddlers to seniors. My goal is to provide well balanced, patient centered care and minimalize dental anxiety in patients through a relationship based on trust and communication. I would like my patients to think of me as a safe, gentle dentist with a keen eye and thorough attention to detail. I believe in life-long learning and has been upgrading my training over the years in specific fields, like orthodontics and endodontics.
Outside of work I enjoy making music in various ways; I sing in choir and play the flute in a band. I have three adult daughters and two grandchildren, as well as two dogs to keep my busy and active.
I have been practicing at Garden Dental Center for the past seven years and I continue to find my experience with my co-workers and patients very rewarding. My professional philosophy about patient care aligns well with Dr. Warner’s and I am looking forward to providing care for our patients for many years to come.
